Dana Mayhew is an Associate with El Camino Group LLC. She is a highly respected human resources professional, trainer, and educator. She has over 30 years of executive human resources experience ranging from educational institutes, entertainment, e-commerce, health care, biotech, health insurance, and the not for profit industry. She is the founder and principal of TDC Consults, a human resources consulting firm. Prior to starting her own firm, she was a corporate executive specializing in human resources management, HR start-ups, labor and employee relations, state and federal employment laws, and training and development.
Dana holds PHR-ca, SPHR, and SHRM-SCP certificates. She is a member of SHRM and a recognized voluntary leader at PIHRA, the largest professional human resources organization in Southern California. Currently, she is the chair of PIHRA’s Government Advocacy Team, where she has presented proposed CalSHRM bills to the state’s Governance and Finance Committee for passage. Under her leadership, the Government Advocacy Team has been nominated for SHRM’s prestigious Pinnacle Award. She is also member of ProVisors – Pasadena 1. ProVisors is a national network of highly respected trusted advisors to the business community. A vivid public speaker, in addition to PIHRA, ProVisors and local universities, she has presented at the Rotary World Peace Conference.
As an educator, she is a strong advocate of positive human resources, a business philosophy that embraces participatory management, creativity and engagement. At the start of her career, she co-taught human resources and labor relations at USC’s School of Public Administration (currently Policy, Planning, and Development). Presently, she is an Adjunct Professor of Human Resources Management at Claremont Graduate University and instructs for UCLA Extension’s Business, Management, and Legal Programs. She is a member of the Department of Behavioral Sciences’ Human Resource Management Program’s Positive HR Lab (PosHR) at Claremont Graduate University. She lives in Altadena with her artist attorney husband and frisky Siberian Huskey.
